POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Guitar / Ukulele Tutor to run an after-school Ukulele Club at a primary school near Woking, Surrey. This role gives children the opportunity to develop musical skills, coordination, and confidence while learning to play the ukulele in a fun and supportive environment.
The club runs for one hour per week, Thursday, 3:15pm – 4:15pm, providing children with a regular chance to practise chords, rhythms, and songs, and enjoy making music together.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Experience teaching or leading ukulele or guitar sessions for children.
  • Ability to engage and motivate children in a structured, fun, and safe way.
  • Strong communication skills in English for interacting with children, parents, and school staff.
  • A background in music education, instrumental teaching, or performance is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise children during ukulele sessions in a safe and encouraging environment.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that develop musical skills, rhythm, and teamwork.
  • Foster creativity, confidence, and enjoyment in learning and playing the ukulele.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school staff about children’s progress.
  • Ensure instruments and the music area are safe, organised, and ready for use.
