We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Guitar Teacher who shares our commitment to quality music education.
The ideal candidate will be friendly with excellent communication skills and experienced in teaching both on a one-to-one and group basis. You will have a dynamic teaching style that is adaptable to students of all ages and abilities in a range of classical and contemporary musical styles. Joining a dedicated team of tutors, you will play a vital role in supporting students not just in lessons but also working towards performances and exams and encouraging them to be a part of the many additional opportunities we offer to our students.

You will:

  • Have experience in teaching music to a range of ages
  • Be dedicated to high standards and have a demonstrated passion for teaching
  • Be available for regular, weekly hours (including at least one evening a week)
  • Have a degree or equivalent musical experience

About Portsmouth Music Academy:
Portsmouth Music Academy is the leading provider of music tuition in the South and plays an important role in supporting and developing local musicians through quality music tuition.
The Academy teaches people of all ages and abilities in one-to-one sessions and group courses from their fully-equipped centres in Cosham and Southsea. Instruments taught include guitar, piano, drums, vocals, bass and ukulele.
PMA also provides music teachers to primary and secondary schools, host live concerts, run ukulele workshops and jam nights as well as providing many other fun opportunities for aspiring musicians to play and socialise together.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £114.00-£122.00 per day

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Portsmouth PO6 3ER: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Application question(s):

  • Can you commit to at least one evening of teaching per week (approx 3-9pm)?
  • Can you commit to at least one day per week of daytime teaching in one of our partner schools (Junior or Secondary)?

Education:

  • Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)

Experience:
