Description
Turn your passion for the outdoors, sports, or fashion into a world-class career. At SCHEELS, we don’t just sell gear—we live it. As a leader in the sporting goods industry, we are driven to create the best experience in the USA for our customers. We empower our associates to become true experts through extensive product training, mentorship, and professional development. If you "walk the walk" and love helping others find their next favorite hobby, you belong at SCHEELS. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Become a Compliance Expert: Lead the way in precision by managing firearms logs and daily 4473 forms, ensuring every record is 100% accurate and fully compliant with Federal and State laws. * Master the Inventory Flow: Take charge of the "engine room" by efficiently processing firearm shipments and maintaining an ultra-organized back stock, from monthly reconciliations to prepping for local banquet events. * Lead through Training: Set the gold standard for your team by training associates on strict safety and documentation procedures, ensuring the entire department operates with total accuracy and integrity. * Deliver World-Class Service: Act as the go-to specialist for our guests, providing expert answers on product use, tracking special orders, and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile. THE PERKS & BENEFITS We don’t just offer a job; we offer an investment in you. At SCHEELS, you aren't just an employee—you’re an owner. * Become an Owner: Join our 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) at no cost to you. You'll start earning ownership after your first year (1,000 hours) and become fully vested in just three years. Continue to build wealth with 401(k) options (eligible after your first quarter). * Comprehensive Health Support: We invest in your wellbeing by paying 75% of your health plan premium, contributing directly to your HSA, and offer a full insurance suite including Dental, Vision, and Accident/Hospital Indemnity. These benefits kick in quickly—starting the first of the month following your first 60 days. * Balance & Support: Enjoy 15 days of PTO (prorated based on your start date) and 6 paid holidays, plus maternity, parental, and bereavement pay. * Best Discount in Retail: Access our "famous" associate discount on the premium brands you love. * Community Impact: Get paid to give back! Beyond monthly paid volunteer time, you’ll receive $500 annually to donate to a charity of your choice. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and treat every customer like the most important person in the building. * Culture Fit: You arrive early (10 minutes is our standard!), bring high energy, and have a genuine desire to help others. * Skills: Basic math and communication skills are essential for sales and reporting. * Physicality: This is a "heavy work" role. You should be comfortable standing, walking, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 lbs. * Education: High school diploma (or GED) and 1–3 months of related experience are preferred. SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION * Hours: Average of 42 hours per week. * The Shift: Monday through Friday (6:30 AM - 2:30 PM) with flexibility as needed.  * Weekends: Occasional Saturdays may be needed. * Pay: The posted compensation is a base hourly rate. Closing Date: The job opportunity will remain posted until we have selected a qualified candidate to fill the position. EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Scheels is an equal employment opportunity employer providing equal employment opportunities to individuals regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
