Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Walker Greenwich Village - New York, NY Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $23.00 - $23.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: None Job Category: Maintenance - Repair (Engineer) Description ABOUT THE ROLE Engineers are responsible for performing general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you should possess the diverse knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, and HVAC refrigeration. Essential Duties: Basic knowledge of, and experience with carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems preferred. Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more throughout the property with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects. Ability to walk, including climbing stairs, ladders, stand to a significant degree, kneel, reach, bend, handle machinery, lift, feel, talk, hear, and see. Specific requirements of the role: Maintain and repair plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts, switches, and fuses. Ensure upkeep of all fixtures and equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule and record such maintenance in logbook. Service pool and spa areas including testing and recording as stated by State and City regulations. Ensure cleanliness of public areas, internal areas, storage areas, and parking lot. Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma and/or trade school coursework in related field. Experience in technology maintenance is required, cleaning experience preferred. Completion of apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician is a plus. HVAC, Pool Operator, Electricity, or Plumbing Certification is a plus.
