Job Description Summary The Project Quality Engineer - Civil Structural will be responsible for executing project quality activities for GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Advanced Nuclear projects. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: Perform project execution activities for Advanced Nuclear projects focusing on quality control of the site work activities. Work proactively with project partners to define specific quality requirements, including development of inspection, verification, and test processes to assure project work activities meet the GVH and project quality requirements. Provide technical guidance to project partners toward assuring compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Work proactively with project partners to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements. Execute project quality surveillance program. Disposition of field change requests and field non-conformances. Write and review technical quality documents, plans and procedures. Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective action processes. Qualifications/Requirements: Associate degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering support or working in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity. 2 years of experience with nuclear civil structural related codes and standards such as ASME B&PV Section III Division 2, AISC N690, ACI 349, CSA N287 and CSA N291. 2 years of experience of Canadian nuclear quality assurance related codes and standards such as CSA N285, CSA N299, and CSA N286. Eligibility Requirements Must be willing to work out of the GVH site engineering office located at the Darlington New Nuclear Project site in Oshawa 5 days a week. Desired Characteristics: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of Nuclear customers, industry programs and competitive environments. Exhibit a strong Nuclear Safety Culture. Knowledge of Nuclear welding and non-destructive examination processes. Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment, components, or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment. Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills. Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships. Experience interacting with senior leadership and/or regulatory organizations. Ability to manage multiple projects at once. Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated knowledge of ASME NQA-1, CSA N299, CSA N285 and ISO-9001 standards. 2 years of experience in Nuclear quality role. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
