DESCRIPTION:

The gym manager is responsible for the gym’s day-to-day operations, including facility maintenance, equipment procurement, marketing and promotion, customer service, staff development, administration, and the sports ministry. The gym manager is responsible for ensuring that the gym operates smoothly at every level.

Special Requirements:

  • Sports Ministry: The gym manager is responsible for the Sports Ministry class and its curriculum, teaching, assessment, and other activities.
  • Sports Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable in playing a variety of sports to effectively lead and support intramural leagues, training, and student engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Upkeep and Maintenance of the Gym Facilities: The gym manager ensures the equipment is working properly and develops a cleaning and maintenance schedule.
  • Equipment Procurement: The gym manager orders equipment and sporting goods for the fitness center and intramural leagues.
  • Marketing and Promotion: The gym manager communicates with the gym users about events happening throughout the semester.
  • Customer Service: The gym manager ensures that the gym users and guests feel welcomed.
  • Staff Development: The gym manager ensures that staff are trained in their role at the gym and works to develop their interpersonal skills.
  • Administration: The gym manager handles the accounting/finances of the gym, data processing of the intramural leagues, and scheduling and coordinating of staff.
  • Intramural Leagues: The gym manager coordinates all intramural leagues while overseeing and organizing league nights.
