If so, we would love for you to join our Youth and Teen team of professionals at the Central Community Branch YMCA of Central Massachusetts! Under the general direction of the Senior Program Director and in cooperation with other lead YMCA staff the Gym Monitor will be responsible for monitoring all Open Gym activities as well as Studio A, the Boxing Gym, and the indoor Track. The successful candidates will be responsible to ensure our members have a safe and fulfilling experience. Essential Functions: Creates a safe environment in which all individuals feel welcomed and respected; build relationships with and among members and program participants Effectively monitors the open gym schedule ensuring proper play during games and other activities as assigned Shares Branch and Program information with members, using available tools and resources (e.g., handouts, schedules) Ensures ongoing communication with Building Supervisor, Director on Duty, and Member Service staff Tactfully enforces all rules, regulations and policies Maintains proper documentation and reports incidents and accidents Maintains safe, clean gymnasium, hallway, and track area Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: 21 years or older CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire Ability to and at least one year of experience developing positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds Excellent communication and negotiation skills Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Job Type: Part-Time Schedule: 5:00pm - 8:30pm Monday through Friday Pay: $15.00/hour Access to facilities to all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave *Must be at least 21 years of age to apply.
