Description POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Gymnastics/Program Director, the Gymnastics Instructor teaches the gymnastics sessions. The instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and documenting each lesson. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan and teach the gymnastics daily sessions Teach Saturday morning parent & tot and pre-gym classes. Supervise “open gym” time. Maintain the gymnastics center in a safe condition. Report to director any safety issue. Take care of any pre-session and post-session cleaning/maintenance duties. Attend scheduled staff meetings. Execute a written report on any injuries or accidents that occur while on duty. Supervise a birthday party according to the guidelines set forth in the manual. Arrive on time, dressed professionally and well-groomed each and every day. Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department. Ability to lift 40 pounds, bending reaching, and kneeling to execute routines and/or utilize equipment. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association’s policies on background screening Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy Enthusiasm for the sport of gymnastics and children Understanding of liability and safety issues therein. Knowledge and understanding of skills and progressions regarding gymnastics instruction. Knowledge and understanding regarding the YMCA of USA’s Gymnastics guidelines, policies, and recommendations. Employment is contingent upon completing required Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
