Description

Location: Detroit Metro Area (Hybrid - Remote + On-site for key activities)
Commitment: 15-20 hours per week
Timeline: ASAP through October 3, 2025
Compensation: Fixed Fee Contract - $2500-$4500 based on experience

EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of project management experience, preferably with technical events or hackathons
  • Clear understanding of Hackathons, their structure and setup
  • Experience using Notion or other modern project management platforms (Asana, Monday.com, Trello, etc)

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong command of project management tools and methodologies, with exceptional organization kills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining team alignment
  • Excellent modern digital skills across common platforms (Google Workspace, Notion, Gmail, Slack, Zoom, Canva, etc)
  • Familiarity with basics of digital marketing for events and content creation
  • Experience with Github, Lovable, Devpost, or AI coding or software systems a huge plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous hackathon planning or technical event coordination experience
  • Familiarity with Detroit’s tech ecosystem and innovation community
  • Understanding of AI tools and no-code/low-code development platforms
  • Experience with hybrid (in-person + virtual) event production
  • Background in marketing, communications, or community engagement
  • Knowledge of the mobility sector or automotive industry
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We’re seeking an organized and AI & tech-savvy Hackathon Program Manager to coordinate the Michigan Mobility AI Hackathon. This part-time role requires someone who excels at digital project management, particularly using Notion for workspace organization, and has experience with hackathons, devpost, and/or technical event planning. You’ll work closely with our core team to ensure smooth execution of this innovative community activation program.
