The Maples is a senior living community which opened in 2018 in Antigonish, NS providing all-inclusive retirement living to our residents. The Role
Under the direction of Management, the Hairdressers at The Maples are an integral and valuable member of our Resident Services team. They are key to the residents’ well-being in that they provide hairdressing and grooming services for the residents. You will serve as a positive role model and represent the Maples in a positive, efficient, professional and confidential manner.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain working relationships, perform all work in keeping with the Mission and Values of Maples Retirement Living.
  • Promote and maintain the safety of the staff, residents and visitors as a priority.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of respecting residents’ rights, including respecting others, maintaining confidentiality, promoting independence, respecting privacy, respecting the right to refuse services and involvement.
  • Ensure the needs of the guests are met.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a healthcare or home care environment would be an asset.
  • Previous experience working with seniors or in a senior living environment would be an asset.
  • Able to be or currently licensed in the province of Nova Scotia

Daily Skills

  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good personal hygiene and neatness.
