ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., VTCT Assessor Award, Certificate in Education & Training, or equivalent).
• Qualified to deliver VTCT and/or ITEC accredited hair courses.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the hairdressing/barbering industry.
• Strong technical expertise across a range of hairdressing and/or barbering techniques.
• Proven track record in assessing and supporting learners to qualification success.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Experience with digital learning tools and blended learning delivery.
• Knowledge of emerging hair technologies and advanced treatments.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Hair Tutor to join our education team, delivering VTCT and/or ITEC accredited hairdressing and barbering courses. The ideal candidate will inspire, educate, and mentor learners to develop their technical and creative skills while meeting awarding body standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver engaging and high-quality training sessions in hairdressing, barbering, and related high-tech hair courses.
• Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with VTCT or ITEC requirements.
• Support learners through both theory and practical assessments, ensuring they achieve the required standards.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve and excel.
• Maintain accurate learner records, progress tracking, and assessment documentation in line with awarding body regulations.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all training environments.
• Participate in standardisation, moderation, and verification processes.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages professional growth and confidence.
