THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for a Half Day Camp Director Are you ideal for working as a Half Day Camp Director at Leawood? * Are you 21 years of age OR older? * Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills? * Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment? * Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer? * Do you have experience working with Children? * Able to work independently, collaboratively with a team, and effectively with the public? As the Half Day Camp Director, you will work: * Approximately 20 – 30 hours per week between 7 am and 1 pm. * Weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. * The camps will run from mid June through the end of July. * Hours are required during camp sessions, with additional time needed each week for camp preparation. A few of the things you will be doing include: * Assist in the coordination, organization, supervision, and delivery of a comprehensive recreational day camp program, including arts and crafts, drama, sports and life skills, language-based activities, dance, and music. * Ensure the safety and appropriate supervision of campers and staff, working with children ages 5–11. * Participate in weekly staff meetings to collaborate on lesson plans and programming for the upcoming week. * Oversee daily camp operations, including supporting camp counselors, leading activities, maintaining attendance and activity records, and ensuring a safe camp environment.
