We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Composite Hand Lamination Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing composite layup operations to manufacture high-quality composite parts. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in pre-preg ply placement on open face tooling, ply orientation and material consolidation techniques. Responsibilities Perform tooling prep operations in preparation for lamination. Prepare and organize composite materials in preparation for lamination. Apply composite materials onto molds or tooling surfaces using techniques like hand layup or automated processes. Ensure proper ply orientation, ply thickness, and material consolidation is achieved. Proficiency in vacuum bagging techniques for composite layup operations. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Basic use of computers for documentation and record-keeping purposes. Required High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Reliable, punctual and have dependable transportation. Able to verbally communicate read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Basic knowledge of computers for documentation and record-keeping purposes. Knowledge of basic hand tools and inspection equipment. Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs aided or unaided. Able to become certified to wear a respirator. Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials. Desired The target base pay for this position is $18-$20/hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
