Position Overview Department: Rehab Services Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Chilton Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Assess patient and designs the appropriate plan of care. Administer and evaluate tests of musculoskeletal, neurological and physiological responses to determine functioning. Develop appropriate treatment plans based on an patient evaluation. Design and fabricate orthotics and adaptive equipment. Initiate and perform treatments through the use of exercise, manual therapy, physical agents and rehabilitation. Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Alabama Board of Occupational Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Responsibilities

The Hand Therapist will assess patients and design appropriate plans of care, administer tests to evaluate functioning, and develop treatment plans. They will also educate patients and families about deficits and assist with discharge planning.
