Job Title: Hand Therapist   Reports to: Director of Hand Therapy   GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:    University Orthopedics Hand Therapy is seeking a full time dynamic, motivated occupational therapist to join our hand therapy team.  Serving residents of RI and southeastern MA, our therapists provide hand and upper extremity rehabilitation to a wide variety of diagnoses including trauma and post-surgical patients. This is a full-time, salaried position with competitive compensation and generous benefits.   Essential Job Functions: * Evaluate patients’ conditions and develop appropriate plans of care * Knowledge of appropriate exercises, healing time frames & manual treatment techniques * Provide therapeutic interventions that facilitate improvements in range of motion, pain and function, thereby assisting with return to functional independence * Orthotic fabrication skills required * Strong communication skills to promote interactions with the entire care team * Professional documentation in electronic health records in accordance with compliance regulations * Perform patient and family education on home exercise, safety, self-care, orthotics, etc., and provide appropriate written materials * Maintain patient’s confidence and adheres to HIPAA mandates * Additional duties as assigned by the Manager to meet department needs   Requirements:  * Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy. * Experience in the treatment of complex hand and arm injuries, repetitive use injuries, management of arthritic conditions, post op management and wound care * Orthotic fabrication experience REQUIRED * CHT recommended, or individual with strong hand experience and working towards their CHT * Must be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary.     
Responsibilities
The Hand Therapist will evaluate patients and develop individualized plans of care for upper extremity rehabilitation. They are responsible for providing therapeutic interventions, fabricating orthotics, and maintaining accurate electronic health records.
