Company Description ibis budget Brisbane Airport is a 3.5-star, 93-room budget hotel located in the Brisbane Airport precinct at Hendra. We pride ourselves on providing clean, functional and comfortable accommodation where attention to detail and quick response maintenance make a real difference to guest experience. We are currently seeking a reliable and practical Handy Person to support the hotel one day per week, with the opportunity for additional hours as required. Job Description This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of keeping guest rooms and public areas looking well-maintained. Key responsibilities include: Completing daily checks and minor repairs across guest rooms and public areas (e.g. leaking taps, door hardware, light fittings, silicone touch-ups, basic plumbing fixes) Patch and paint work, including repairing wall damage, scuffs, and general cosmetic wear Maintaining guest facilities and hotel equipment Supporting scheduled preventive maintenance tasks Inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining air-conditioning filters Clearing walkways and ensuring external areas are safe and presentable Liaising with management to ensure out-of-order rooms or areas are returned to service as quickly as possible Identifying maintenance issues early and reporting larger repairs where required Qualifications 1–2 years’ experience in a similar handyman, maintenance, or facilities role (hotel or accommodation experience highly regarded) Demonstrated experience with patching, painting, and general cosmetic repairs Practical problem-solver who can work independently and prioritise tasks effectively Reliable, committed, and flexible with shift requirements Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining presentation standards Good interpersonal skills and professionalism when working in guest areas A strong commitment to guest satisfaction, safety, and Accor’s Heartist values Additional Information What is in it for you: ALL Heartist, Employee benefit card, offering discounted rates in Accor worldwide on Accommodation and Food & Beverage, Learning programs through our “Learn your Way” Academy platforms, ongoing training and development opportunities (self-pace, virtual webinars, face to face) Opportunity to develop your talent and grow within your property and across the world!
