ABOUT KANE AQUARIUM

Kane Aquarium is a dynamic and growing aquatic facility committed to the health and education of marine life. We provide a clean, safe, and enriching environment for both our animals and guests. We’re looking for a reliable and skilled Handyman to join our maintenance team and help us keep our facility in excellent working order.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As our Handyman, you’ll be responsible for setup, general maintenance and repairs throughout the aquarium, including exhibits, guest areas, staff facilities, and equipment. You’ll work closely with operations, animal care, and maintenance teams to ensure a safe and functional environment for all.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools
  • Good physical condition and strength
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Comfortable working in wet, humid, and animal care environments
  • Willingness to work weekends or holidays, if needed

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in aquarium/zoo/museum settings is a plus
  • Safety certification or other relevant licenses
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities
  • Perform set-ups and repairs (plumbing, carpentry, glass, painting, and electrical work)
  • Conduct routine inspections of the property and facilities and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Help maintain tanks, water systems, and structural components
  • Ensure all tools and maintenance equipment are stored safely and properly
  • Assist in setup and teardown of aquatic exhibits and events
