JOB SUMMARY

To carry out, complete and make good multi trade/handy man tasks as instructed by the Contract Manager and or Surveyors.
Working hours: 40 hours per week, 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday with 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Responsibilities
  • To carry out remedial repairs/replacement to the building fabric within establishments following installation of heating, domestic services pipework and electrics, in order for contract works to be finalised
  • Work independently from client/consultant issued snagging reports
  • Organise and carry out painting of building fabric and pipework services that may be required
  • To carry out “boxing in” of surface mounted services
  • Minor brickwork repairs to match existing finishes
  • Minor plastering repairs to match existing finishes
  • General “making good” to surfaces prior to or in readiness for re-decorating works.
  • Minor installation works of pipework insulations
  • Ensure that site is left clean/tidy on completion of works prior to hand-over to client/resident alike
  • To assist in the removal of plant and rubbish from sites
  • Remove from site and dispose of in an approved manner, all redundant materials and residual waste from site on completion of work
  • Collect/deliver materials as directed in order to progress work
  • Liaise with surveyors on aspects of the general service delivery
  • To ensure that works are completed to the required company standard and within projected time-scale, costs and technical requirements
  • To take photos and report on a regular basis to surveyors on the status of all works within the department to identify, in good time, problems of time-scale or resources
  • To ensure that all procedures and departmental instructions that relate to the service delivery process are maintained with particular regard to QA procedures
  • To ensure that all work carried out complies with the relevant sections of the ‘Health and Safety Act’
  • Keep records as appropriate
  • Visit sites within the company’s service area
    Any other duties as reasonably requested
