Our property features 324 elegantly appointed rooms, 13 versatile meeting spaces, Coco’s Kitchen and Bar, as well as in-room dining services. We are now seeking a dedicated handyperson to support our team in the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of rooms and public areas. This is an essential role that helps ensure our guests experience the high standards of comfort and presentation that define Pullman Cairns International. Pullman Cairns International is looking for a practical, reliable Handy Person to join our Engineering team and help keep our 5-star hotel running smoothly behind the scenes. If you’ve got a trade background maybe carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning, or general maintenance - this could be the perfect move. You’ll be working mostly indoors with a small, friendly team that takes pride in their work. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests through efficient maintenance of our building and facilities. Your key responsibilities will include: Complete routine and preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public spaces Troubleshoot and repair a variety of facility-related issues including air-conditioning, plumbing, fittings, and general wear and tear Respond promptly to restore out-of-service rooms and support the smooth running of essential building services Assist in system checks and minor servicing of plant and equipment Work collaboratively with the engineering team and liaise with external specialists when needed We're looking for someone who is confident working with a range of tools and systems, with a strong problem-solving mindset and a focus on quality workmanship. Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings practical knowledge and a solid understanding of how building systems operate. If you're someone who thrives on diagnosing issues and restoring functionality with precision and care, you’ll fit right in.
