ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a CBRE Maintenance Assistant, you’ll perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair to various structures throughout a designated commercial facility.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performing light duties: sweeping, general cleaning, painting/patching, garbage removal, snow removal, etc.
  • Completing basic preventive/demand maintenance tasks; input histories if required
  • Completing general maintenance of door/window hardware
  • Re-lamping as required
  • Maintain signage
  • Complete filter changes
  • Inspect/repair interior/exterior elements i.e., walls, sidewalks, etc.
  • Maintain/repair concrete precast/cement
  • Inspect roof for debris; reports damage
  • Repair drywall/tiles (floor and wall)
  • Experience performing water treatment, maintenance/repair on pipes and plumbing valves
  • Remove existing floor coverings, clean, and level the surface
  • Take measurements and mark the surface to be covered
  • Use tools like tile scribes, wet saws, and handheld tile cutters
  • Set the tiles in position and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  • Ensure the tiles are cut and installed to precise specifications and that they meet quality standards
  • Applying tiling grout.
  • Cleaning off excess grout and conducting post-installation inspections.
  • Monitors work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to contract specifics and company/industry standards
  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable codes
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

  • Previous tile setting experience – 1 year
  • Previous handyperson experience is an asset
  • Ability to operate hand and machine cutting tools.
  • Knowledge of tiling designs and installation techniques.
  • You should have excellent customer service skills in ensuring client requests are responded to professionally;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written);
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
