24-7 Locks Ltd provides free handyperson/minor adaptations services in the homes of individuals aged 60+ and those living with disabilities, on behalf of Local Authorities across the UK. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS (CRB) check
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Good interpersonal skills and a compassionate attitude toward vulnerable individuals
  • Practical experience in basic maintenance and repair tasks

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Handyperson to join our dedicated team. This role involves carrying out a range of basic maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing and carpentry, fitting grab rails and external handrails and building external steps. You’ll play a vital role in supporting vulnerable people to live safely and independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visit service users’ homes to assess required work;
  • Complete a wide variety of tasks, such as basic plumbing and joinery, and fitting minor adaptations
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including materials used
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines and company policies
  • Clear all waste and leave each property clean and tidy
  • Refer service users to additional free local services where appropriate
  • Liaise with Occupational Therapists and other professionals when carrying out adaptations
  • Work collaboratively with team members, statutory services, and voluntary organisations to support each client
  • Follow all financial and administrative procedures accurately
  • Manage your workload efficiently to meet targets and service standards
  • Take on additional tasks as reasonably assigned by your manager
  • Continuously develop your skills and contribute to best practices within the team
  • Uphold and promote our organisation’s values, mission, and commitment to diversity
