Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Systems Engineering General Summary: Req description: Haptics Algo/Systems Engineer (Staff Eng and Sr Eng) Audio Systems team is looking for a research engineer with a passion for control systems, signal processing and HW design for application such as Haptics. You will be working with a team of HW Systems and Audio Systems experts to develop advanced technology and solutions for mobile phones, Gaming, XR, and variety of IoT devices. Members of our team enjoy the opportunity to participate in cutting edge research while simultaneously contributing technology that will be published in patents/papers and deployed worldwide in our industry-leading devices. The team works with algorithm, hardware and software engineers across the company to develop, port newly designed solutions to real live prototypes shown at tradeshows and support commercialization on snapdragon products. Responsibilities: • Design and develop innovative control systems and signal processing algorithms for Smart Haptics to render crisp and low latency Haptics • Design & conduct experiments to characterise novel actuators and extract metrics relevent to UI experiences • Drive Analog and digital HW design and interfaces for Haptics • Tailor algorithms to particular use cases and implement in latest reference designs in collaboration with software/system engineers • Drive the roadmap and improvements of the technology along with competitive analysis • Drive end-to-end HW-SW system design, development, prototyping, performance validation and commercialization of new features/technologies that meet performance, power, robustness and stability metrics on Qualcomm platforms • After successful demos to technical and business audiences, work with commercialization teams to enable developed solutions onto Snapdragon platforms and customer devices • All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company. • Proven ability to work in a dynamic, multi-tasked environment • Self-starter who likes to be challenged and solve tough complex problems • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. • Quick learner, self-motivated, able to work independently and a Team player. • Aspiration for excellence. • Working in cross disciplinary, geographically-dispersed teams Required Qualification • R&D experience developing excursion or thermal compensation for Speaker Amplifiers or Actuators • Strong background in electroacoustic design and signal processing • Experience working with Speaker Amplifiers or Actuators, electro-mechanical and Modelling • Proficiency in designing, prototyping and implementing Electromechanical models • Familiar with the lump element model of LRAs • Background in close loop feedback control system design • Willingness to engage in hands-on R&D in signal processing, machine learning and desgining of HW and SW • Strong programming skills in Matlab, C/C++, Python Education Requirements Required: Master's/PhD degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience. *Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master’s = one year) of work experience.
