Our hardscape team installs patios, retaining walls, stone features, and structural landscape elements that are built to last in Idaho’s climate. The Role We’re hiring a Hardscape Crew Leader to lead installation crews building patios, walkways, pavers, retaining walls, steps, and stone features. This is a hands-on team leadership role for someone who understands hardscape construction, takes pride in precision work, and can confidently guide a small crew (typically 2 team members) to complete projects safely, efficiently, and professionally. You set the tone on the jobsite — for quality, pace, safety, and professionalism. What You’ll Do Field Team Leadership • Lead daily hardscape installation work and assign tasks to crew members • Train crew members in proper installation techniques and safety practices • Maintain a professional, organized jobsite • Communicate clearly with the Operations Manager or Project Manager Hardscape Installation • Layout and build patios, walkways, and paver systems • Construct retaining walls, steps, and structural landscape elements • Excavate, grade, and prepare subgrade and base materials • Ensure proper compaction, drainage, and installation standards Quality Control • Ensure finished work meets TerraVita’s craftsmanship standards • Check elevations, alignment, and final details before completion • Maintain clean, client-ready job sites each day Equipment & Materials • Operate and oversee safe use of compactors, saws, and power equipment • Manage material staging and efficient labor flow • Track materials and communicate needs to management Safety Matters Here Hardscape work involves excavation, heavy materials, power equipment, and cutting tools. Crew Leaders must actively enforce safety standards. You must ensure your crew: • Wears required PPE (boots, gloves, eye/ear protection, hi-vis when required) • Follows dust control rules (wet cutting / respiratory protection when needed) • Uses safe lifting and equipment operation practices • Maintains awareness of jobsite hazards at all times Schedule & Pay Full-Time Seasonal Pay: $25/hour DOE FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Overtime may be available during peak season based on project workload and applicable law. What We’re Looking For • Hardscape or construction experience (pavers, stone, retaining walls, grading) • Leadership ability and confidence directing a crew • Strong work ethic and reliability • Ability to read layout plans or follow installation specifications • Professional behavior on client properties • Ability to perform physical outdoor work in all weather conditions Preferred Qualifications • ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) certification preferred • Experience leading a hardscape or construction crew • Experience with compactors, skid steers, or cutting tools • Knowledge of base prep, drainage, and proper hardscape installation techniques Remember: Other duties as assigned.
