Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: Lenexa, KS Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: Undisclosed Position Description Lochner, a leader in transportation engineering, is currently seeking an entry level IT Help Desk Specialist to join our corporate team. This individual will provide end-user IT support on company provided systems and applications as well as work with the end-user, troubleshoot problems, and take or advise on appropriate remedial actions. Responsibilities: Provide hardware and software IT support and technical education to end users remotely as well as in person to diagnose and resolve technical issues Triage, assign, resolve, and escalate incoming tickets, phone calls, and chat messages Support web and software-based applications on desktop and mobile platforms General network troubleshooting for issues with VPN, secure Wi-Fi, and wired connectivity to the internal network Support and maintain peripheral equipment such as printers and copiers Research questions using available information resources Update and create troubleshooting and procedural documentation Onboarding of new hires including building user accounts and providing access as needed Examine, design, and implement new internal procedures to improve office procedures Solve issues, drive enhancements, and improve support for all IT-related functions on a day to day basis Educational Requirements Recent college graduate holding a degree in an information technology field Relevant professional certifications a plus Technical Qualifications A deep understanding of root cause analysis A deep understanding of Windows OS Strong knowledge in OS configuration, troubleshooting performance issues, general system issues, and applications such as MS Office and Remote Desktop Connection Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong ability to work independently Strong ability to multitask Working knowledge of the following systems: Active Directory and Group Policy Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications including MS Teams and OneDrive Multi-factor authentication Video Conference tools such as Cisco WebEx and Teams Basic network understanding including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN Physical Requirements Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as sitting, standing, crawling, carrying, climbing, reaching, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and crouching. In addition, must have the ability to lift 40 pounds over head to install systems in server racks. Also, ability to setup and connect computers, and make hardware changes to workstations and servers. Responsibilities

The Hardware Deployment Specialist will provide hardware and software IT support to end users, diagnosing and resolving technical issues both remotely and in person. Responsibilities also include managing incoming support tickets and assisting with onboarding new hires.
