Primary Purpose The Hardware Deployment Technician supports the IT asset lifecycle refresh by provisioning, deploying, and configuring laptops and mobile devices for all users, ensuring each device meets company standards and is accurately tracked in ServiceNow and Intune. This role assists users with initial setup and troubleshooting, helping to maintain regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and user satisfaction as part of the IT Sustainability Fund (ITSF) program, which aims to modernize infrastructure, enhance cybersecurity, and improve employee productivity through effective asset management and support. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities Provision and prepare laptops, iPhones, and Mac devices for deployment, ensuring all hardware is configured to company standards. Deliver hands-on support to employees during device rollout, assisting with initial setup and user onboarding. Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software issues during deployment, minimizing user downtime. Log all deployed devices accurately in ServiceNow’s Hardware Asset Management module and Intune, ensuring asset records are up to date and compliant. Guide users through the setup process, providing clear instructions and support for connecting to company systems and applications. Perform device checks and validation to ensure security, compliance, and operational readiness before handover. Coordinate with IT teams to address escalated deployment or configuration issues, ensuring timely resolution. Maintain inventory records, track asset movements, and support the refresh and retirement of hardware assets. Communicate proactively with users, keeping them informed throughout the deployment process. Qualifications Relevant tertiary or technical qualifications. ITIL V3 or V4 Foundations (preferred, not mandatory but highly beneficial). Required experience, understanding or credentials including: Superior communication skills with a proven ability to convey complex technical information in clear, non-technical language. Demonstrated excellence in customer service within fast-paced corporate and IT settings, consistently delivering an outstanding user experience. Strong capability to operate both independently and collaboratively, utilizing effective problem-solving skills to address challenges. Experience setting up and configuring laptops, iPhones, or Mac devices, even in a training or lab environment. Basic understanding of enrolling and managing devices using Intune or another mobile device management tool. Ability to follow guides to diagnose and resolve common hardware and software issues. Experience maintaining simple inventory lists or updating records accurately. Experience helping users with device setup, either in person, over the phone, or via email. Ability to communicate clearly and patiently with users who have varying levels of technical knowledge. Willingness to work collaboratively with other IT team members and follow instructions. Exposure to ServiceNow asset management systems for logging and tracking hardware.
