In this role, you will be part of our local engineering team, working on fire system modules like detectors, panels and loop drivers. You will support projects focused on developing new systems from scratch, contributing to Autronica’s mission of designing fire protection systems for the maritime, energy, and land sectors—work that truly saves lives and makes an impact. As a Hardware Engineer, we expect you to be an independent contributor with high focus on your assignments, which is ensuring the quality and reliability of our electronic products. You’ll combine hands-on testing with design work, collaborating with senior engineers to shape innovative systems. The role involves practical work in our internal labs, close teamwork with cross-functional teams, and coordination with external test labs.  Your responsibilities as a Hardware Engineer will be: * Preparing tests plan and performing hardware tests according to project requirements, including pre-compliance tests like functional, environmental and EMC. * Designing and maintaining tests setups, fixtures and measurement systems. * Supporting in identifying and resolving hardware issues. * Supporting in designing schematics. * Analyzing test results, preparing documentation and providing feedback to design engineers * Conducting engineering research for EN54 directive compliance and preparing devices for testing at external research units * Collaborate with external test laboratories, including occasionally visiting * Providing support and maintenance for deployed products (handling change management, end of life components, cost optimization, bug fixes).   Who You Are You are a curious, self-motivated, and solution-oriented engineer with a passion for new technology. You enjoy solving problems, collaborating with international teams, and exceeding customer expectations. With a hands-on mindset, you are comfortable setting up and troubleshooting hardware tests and have a solid understanding of electronics and lab processes. * Min. Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics or related fields. * Familiarity with environmental testing (temperature, vibration, humidity, etc.) * Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design * Ability to set up, run and troubleshoot hardware test setups * Strong documentation and reporting skills * Experience in certification process and working with external test labs * Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscope, analyzers, power supplies etc. * Familiarity with high-speed interfaces and signal integrity * Experience in creating electrical schematics * Knowledge of EMC compliance, testing procedures and troubleshooting Nice to have: * Experience with automated test systems or scripting (eg. Python, LabView, Matlab) * Familiarity with reliability and lifetime testing methods. * Fluent in English (spoken and written) – required for documentation, technical communication, and collaboration with international teams and partners.
