Description
SAIC is seeking a Hardware Engineer for shipboard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program will be part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation afloat mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands. This position is contingent upon award news, expected early 2026. Job Duties: Perform review of system engineering documents for stage 4 and 5 test procedures development and test execution for shipboard C5ISR systems. Plan and delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables including contract CDRLS in support of program requirements Develop, update, and maintain project engineering documents including stage 4 and 5 test procedures, ICDs, Block Diagrams, schematics, technical and operational manuals for C5ISR systems Support the proactive identification and mitigation of risks Assess C5ISR hardware configurations (eg, cabinets/trays/fixtures/sway braces/cables/connectors) and perform engineering environmental qualifications analysis (eg, vibration, shock, EMI) Please view our program page for more information and to view all open positions available: https://jobs.saic.com/pages/shipyardc5isr-careers Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s and nine (9) years or more relevant experience with one or more C5ISR systems: radio communication racks, Interior Communications (Alarm/Safety/Warning), shipboard CGOne/Unclass/SIPRNET LANs, Surface Search Radar, Navigation Distribution system, Integrated Bridge System. An additional four years of experience in lieu of degree requirement Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements Experience with Environmental Qualification testing and analysis of shipboard systems Required Security Clearance: Must have an active secret clearance on first day of employment Desired Qualification & Experience: Experience with shipboard cabinets, cableways, cables and connectors including fiber, coaxial, cat5, and twisted pairs type cables Familiar with C4ISR/C5ISR Interface Control Documents, Block diagrams, schematics, and Functional Interface Drawings Prior experience providing support for a shipyard environment project Desired Systems C3ISR, C4ISR, C5ISR, and/or C6ISR Shipboard Systems Experience: Integrated Bridge System Gyrocompass (e.g., WSN-7) Surface Search Radars (e.g., AN/SPY-6, SPS-series) UHF, HF, VHF Marine Radios Shipboard Communication Cabinets Shipboard Alarms and Interior Communications (Safety, Warning Systems) Fathometer and Depth Sounding Systems Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Sonar Mission System (SMS) Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Communications NIPRNET, SIPRNET, SI LAN
