Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Hardware Engineer - Senior to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: The Cyber Systems Hardware Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining hardware systems that support cyber security operations. This role involves working closely with software engineers, network engineers, and security analysts to ensure the hardware infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient. Develops installation plans, tests installations, troubleshooting techniques for deployed hardware stacks, adheres to build standards for hardware installations, provides technical support for testing and deploying hardware ensuring secure supply chain. Other Responsibilities: Design and develop hardware systems to support cyber security initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software solutions. Conduct testing and validation of hardware components to ensure performance and security standards are met. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues in a timely manner. Develop and maintain documentation for hardware designs, configurations, and procedures. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to hardware engineering and cyber security. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. Desired skills/experience: Experience with hardware testing and validation tools and methodologies. Familiarity with cyber security concepts and practices Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in US Space Force specifically, Space Systems Command Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. High level of integrity and commitment to security best practices Data Center experience desired Education/Certification Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and 15+ years’ related professional experience; A master's degree is preferred. Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP CCNA, Security+, CCNP, JNCIS-Sec, JNCDA or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on cyber security systems Clearance: Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance. A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is HIGHLY desired. Location/Travel Requirements: Place of work is Colorado Springs, remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $165,000/year to $195,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
