Description
Golden, CO | Full-Time | 12-15 Weeks About Rendezvous Robotics Today, everything we send to space is constrained by what fits inside a rocket fairing. That's a fundamental bottleneck if we want to build real infrastructure in orbit. Rendezvous Robotics is solving this problem with electromagnetic self-assembling tiles that enable spacecraft and structures to autonomously dock, reconfigure, and scale in space. We're building the foundation for structures that can grow far beyond what any single launch can carry. The Role We're looking for Hardware Engineering Interns to join us for Summer 2026. You'll work directly alongside our engineering team on real hardware that will fly. This isn't a project designed for interns. You'll own meaningful work across the full development lifecycle, from design through integration and test. We're hiring across multiple hardware disciplines: structures, mechanisms, avionics, manufacturing, and test engineering. We'll match you to the work that best fits your background and interests. What You'll Do Own end-to-end development of hardware subsystems or components Design, analyze, and iterate on mechanical assemblies, electronics, or test systems Build and run test campaigns to rapidly buy down risk and quickly iterate on design Support manufacturing processes from prototyping through production Collaborate across disciplines with structures, avionics, software, and operations engineers What We're Looking For Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline Demonstrated hands-on technical experience outside the classroom: project teams, research, personal builds, or prior internships Strong fundamentals in your discipline with a bias toward building and testing real hardware Ability to work full-time on-site in Golden, CO for the duration of the internship You'll Stand Out If You Have Leadership experience on competitive engineering teams (Formula SAE, FSAE Electric, Baja, rocket clubs, CubeSat projects) Recognition at national or international competitions (ISEF, design competitions, robotics challenges) Proficiency in CAD software (NX preferred; SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360 also accepted) Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad) or electronics prototyping Familiarity with GD&T, structural analysis (FEA), or thermal analysis Prior aerospace or space industry experience ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Equal Opportunity Rendezvous Robotics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment is based on merit, competence, and qualifications, and will not be influenced by race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
Responsibilities
Interns will own end-to-end development of hardware subsystems or components, including design, analysis, and testing. They will also support manufacturing processes and collaborate with various engineering disciplines.
