Manager Engineering – Electrical
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to
lead our electrical design and development team in delivering cutting-edge
aerospace systems. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and
integration of electrical components and systems for aircraft, and defense
platforms. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership
acumen, and a passion for innovation in aerospace technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers across multiple aerospace

programs.

  • Oversee the design, analysis, and testing of electrical systems including

power and embedded electronics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software,

systems, and manufacturing engineering.

  • Ensure compliance with military and aerospace industry standards (DO-254,

AS9100 etc.).

  • Drive technical reviews, design validation, and product qualification

processes.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to define requirements and present

technical solutions.

  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and continuous

improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 8 years in

a leadership role.

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian province or

territory.

  • Strong knowledge of power and digital electronics, FPGA applications, PCB

design, EMI/EMC, and system integration.

  • Familiarity with aerospace certification and regulatory requirements (e.g.

DO-254, AS9000) or automotive (e.g. ISO/TS16949, ISO26262)

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Proven experience in aerospace or defense industry preferred.
  • Understanding of thermal and mechanical constraints in aerospace

environments.

  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to following established processes and

actively promotes a process-driven approach.

  • Experience with direct customer communication
  • Problem solving and process improvement experience (green / black belt,

Kaizen etc.)
