Description SSI is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Hardware Inventory Specialist to join our team based out of Chantilly, VA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform installation and support of new Windows-based computer systems. Install image and software on laptops and workstations. Prepare the computers for deployments and support the deployment activities. Assist with the installation and support of computer systems and peripherals. Coordinates with Management for inventory, hardware orders, equipment movement, and shipping needs. Assist in assuring that work products comply with established deliverable guidelines, including format and content. Assist in the development of documentation based on the customer's processes. Travel to customer sites and perform deployment activities to include site surveys, install hardware, install software, remove hardware, check hardware for shipment, etc. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Clearance: Secret Education: High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience in Information Technology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and effective decision-making. Experience in Customer Service. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Productivity applications. Must be able to travel up to 25%, domestic and internationally Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 50% of the time. Must be able to work in an office environment and be able to freely move within this space to utilize office equipment as well as interface with co-workers and customers. Must be able to effectively use IT peripherals such as a laptop, a desktop, a printer, a fax machine, etc. Must be able to review, decipher and understand program manuals; software/hardware manuals; training manuals; etc. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One or more technical certifications (Comp TIA ITF+, A+, Network+, Security+, MS Endpoint Administrator, etc.)
Responsibilities
Install and support Windows-based computer systems, laptops, and workstations including software imaging and deployment. Coordinate hardware inventory, orders, and shipping while performing site surveys and hardware removal at customer locations.
