The Client At our client's firm, they're redefining play with a one-of-a-kind cube-shaped gaming console that merges the physical and digital worlds. The system combines modular hardware, immersive software, and creative game design to create a brand-new category of interactive entertainment. About the Role Our client is looking for a Hardware Engineer to join their R&D center in Shenzhen. As a Hardware Engineer onsite, you will take ownership of key hardware projects and drive them from concept and prototyping through testing, certification, and mass production. This role is quite project-focused: you will coordinate closely with the hardware team onsite, as well as cross-functional teams in design, software, and manufacturing, to deliver successful product outcomes that meet world-class standards. Responsibilities Develop and maintain electronic schematics and PCB layouts using CAD tools (Altium Designer and similar). Debug, analyze, and optimize hardware performance, power efficiency, and durability. Prepare and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials), ensuring accuracy, cost-efficiency, and availability of components. Research, select, and validate components with strong focus on the Chinese electronics supply base. Create and maintain documentation packages for manufacturing, assembly, and testing. Systematize and improve hardware development workflows and documentation standards. Support debugging, validation, and testing of prototypes, support international certification compliance. Collaborate with suppliers and factories to resolve technical issues and align on specifications. Ensure DFM considerations are integrated into all designs to streamline manufacturing. 7+ years of experience in consumer electronics product development. Solid hands-on experience with Altium Designer (or equivalent EDA tools). Strong understanding of BOM management and component lifecycle. Knowledge of modern electronic components, with emphasis on sourcing and availability in the Chinese market. Practical experience preparing hardware documentation for factories and manufacturing partners. Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging practices. Ability to structure processes and keep documentation systematic and up to date. English is required; Chinese is a strong plus. Nice to Have Experience in gaming hardware, toys, or interactive devices. Knowledge of wireless modules (e.g., Bluetooth), power management, or sensor integration. Rust, C++, or assembly skills for hardware-related software debugging. Experience working directly with Chinese factories (OEM/ODM). Official employment in China through our registered entity.
