Vecima is seeking a Hardware Senior Engineer (Mechanical Design) to participate in developing the next-generation broad-band products. Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation. Duties and Responsibilities: * Development of mechanical designs for products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and materials * Generate 3D models (Solidworks) and associated 2D drawings * Perform first article inspections * Research, interpret data sheets and specifications * Part evaluation and selection, performance analysis, trade-off studies, etc. * Perform factor of safety simulations and thermal assessments * Design and test for regulatory/compliance (Safety, Mechanical shock, Transportation/Vibration, etc.) * Design for manufacturability SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS * Delivers complex designs/drawings/models/documentation that are error-free, meet the requirements and are not over-designed * Creates Solidworks 3D models and associated 2D drawings with ease * Skilled in the operation of 3D printers * Able to design a complete mechanical design with minimal assistance * Able to perform factor of safety simulations and thermal assessments * Contributes to difficult design challenges * Reviews test cases and advises on regression impact * Organizes, leads, and creates review records of design reviews * Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends by researching new areas of technology and reviewing competitor designs Education & Experience Requirements: * Bachelors Degree (>4yr) or Master Degree (>3yr) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related degree. * Familiar with communication product development. But not limited to it. * 3 or more years of successful Fix Access Product Hardware Design experience, which should have included end-to-end delivery in a time-to-market environment, as well as a solid understanding of the product lifecycle process as well as the hardware development process. * Direct experience dealing with manufacturing and field issues, and external suppliers. * High responsibility, dedication and team spirit; high ability of studying, self-motivated and ability of analysis and solve problem independently.
