ABOUT THE ROLE

Your mission as Hardware Support Engineer is to lead the design, specification, and lifecycle of the hardware landscape that powers the Vita Mojo platform, ensuring our device estate is stable, supportable, and scalable.
You’ll work closely with Engineering, Commercial, Product, Support, and the Hardware Ops team to define and deliver a robust hardware strategy. This includes owning the specification of new devices, validating them against software and OS constraints, and defining a clear business offering for our clients. You’ll coordinate with vendors, lead planning and execution of large-scale migrations, and define the support systems and internal tooling required to manage hardware in the field.
This is a pivotal role that blends product thinking, technical rigour, and operational awareness, ensuring that the hardware we recommend and deploy reflects our long-term technical vision, not just short-term constraints.

WHY THIS ROLE?

  • Own the intersection of physical and digital - help define the client-facing edge of our platform
  • Build for the future - make technical decisions that stand the test of time
  • Cross-functional by nature - collaborate daily with Engineering, Commercial, and Ops
-

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Defining and maintaining a future-proof hardware specification aligned to our platform and product direction
  • Working with Engineers to validate hardware against Android OS compatibility, SDK requirements, and long-term supportability
  • Collaborating with the Hardware Ops team to ensure physical viability (e.g. mounting, installation, cabling, peripherals)
  • Partnering with Commercial to shape client-facing proposals and define what hardware is “in the box”
  • Setup and management of MDM tools for our estate
  • Leading the planning and execution of mass migrations (e.g. legacy Android versions, estate upgrades)
  • Defining the training, documentation, and onboarding material used internally and with clients
  • Ensuring our support, observability, and BAU processes are suitable for managing hardware at scale
  • Keeping ahead of the industry - proactively identifying lifecycle risks or emerging opportunities in the device ecosyste
