Description JOB SUMMARY: The Harm Reduction Assistant will assist in running the mobile syringe exchange services in Grays Harbor and Pacific County. They will accomplish deliverables of the state and government grants. They will assist in providing supplies to community members at the needle exchange location, restock supplies in van and storage, break supplies down into smaller portions, assist in processing shipments of product, assist with resourcing for patrons using the syringe exchange, and track inventory needs to assure supplies needed are always available. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow Willapa Behavioral Health & Wellness Service Excellence Standards / Code of Ethics and Policies and Procedures. Adhere to rules of confidentiality. Respect and accommodate a diverse population. Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff. Work on-site as necessary or remotely using telehealth technology as determined by management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in providing services to community members. Track and report harm reduction supply distribution. Assist in stocking and managing storage/van and inventory of harm reduction supplies. Assist in community outreach events such as conventions, meetings, community treatment, etc. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School/GED graduate. Must uphold strong boundaries and understand when situations are being dramatized, blown out of proportion, or manipulated and step away from them, not join them Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Undergo and pass criminal background check upon initial employment and any subsequent checks required by the agency. Meet requirements of agency’s drug free workplace policy. Excellent customer service with a client focus. Able to sit, stand and move for long hours at a time (minimum of standing for 5 hours) and lift up to 25 pounds. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Able to drive a large transit van in daylight, darkness, and typical Northwest weather conditions. Flexible to fill-in shifts if needed. Meet the current Washington health care vaccination requirements for health care workers. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A Washington State Certified Peer Counselor Certificate from the WA State Health Care Authority RECURRING JOB TRAVEL REQUIRED: __x__ Yes ____ No If yes, driving record must pass WBHW insurance company’s underwriting guidelines. SCHEDULE 11 AM - 4 PM Tuesdays, Additional hours as needed to restock inventory. Position is temporary hourly, no benefits.
