Job Description Designs wiring systems for one or more projects Is responsible for the application of product design Performs one or several of the following design elements: External and internal Change Management processes 2-D / 3-D Harness routing Design Release Engineering Determining whether a design solution is user-friendly, cost-effective and environmentally friendly Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations Evaluate DVP impact on the product and establish solutions Drawing release and BOM accuracy Module split of 2D designs Module logistic code definition Resident Design Engineering Evaluation of customer systems Schematic Design Wire Dimensioning Regular communication with customer, engineers and our manufacturing plants Participate to all engineering activities related with the product (FMET, DFMEA,DMU, Design for Manufacturing, etc…) Regular presence in reviews related with the customer development strategy Circuits analyse VAVE proposals Is responsible for technical content for documentation according to customer specification Qualifications Ideally educated to HNC/degree level, or equivalent, in an Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering discipline Knowledge of VW Systems and specific Bentley Systems Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and circuits Have a sound understanding of the harness design and manufacturing processes Experience working in a Customer interface role Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including presentation, technical communication and negotiation skills) Ability to comply with current relevant legal and internal defined standards, as well as safety and environmental regulations Ability to report risks, opportunities and to comply with deadlines Prepared to travel UK and overseas Additional Information Competitive Salary dependent on experience 34 holidays including bank holidays with an accrual of an additional 5 days relating to service Annual Bonus Company Contributory Workplace Pension (up to 10% contribution) Cashplan Healthcare Scheme 37.5 hour working week Flexible Working Policy (including working from home) Location: Crewe and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
