We are seeking a skilled Harnessing and Electronics Technician with expertise in cable and wire harnessing, electronic assembly, PCBA, and IPC standards compliance. The ideal candidate will have certifications in IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-620, along with a strong understanding of electronic circuits, soldering techniques, and quality control in electrical assemblies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certifications: IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-620 (highly desired)
  • Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in harnessing, electronic assembly
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in soldering, crimping, wire routing, and cable assembly
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic testing equipment
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Additional IPC certifications (e.g., IPC-7711/7721 for rework and repair, IPC-610)
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or industrial electronics manufacturing

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or lab environment
  • Comfortable working with small components and using precision tools
  • May require extended periods of standing or sitting
    Salary range: $35-$45/hour
    Applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States and willing to work onsite at our HQ office in Palo Alto, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, route, and install cable and wire harnesses following IPC-620 standards
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) and electronic components
  • Perform soldering and rework of electronic components in compliance with IPC-J-STD-001
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with industry and company standards
  • Utilize hand tools and automated equipment for crimping, stripping, and wire termination
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure proper integration of electrical systems
  • Maintain documentation of work performed, including assembly reports and quality control logs
  • Identify and resolve faults and non-conformities in electronic assemblies and harnesses
  • Ensure adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety procedures and workplace safety regulations
