Job Description
This is a permanent part-time role (0.5 FTE / 18.75 hours a week) based at our Auckland CBD campus.
Are you passionate about shaping the future of healthcare through culturally responsive education? Join us as a Hauora Māori Kaiako and play a pivotal role in empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering a transformative learning experience for students/ākonga in the Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (He Tohu Pōkairua Nēhi) Programme (Level 5).
As part of our dedicated team, you’ll weave the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Kawa Whakaruruhau, cultural safety, and health equity into every aspect of your teaching. You will inspire students/ ākonga to embrace Hauora Māori models of health—such as the Hui Process, Meihana Model, and strength-based approaches—helping them develop the skills and cultural intelligence to provide exceptional care.
This role isn’t just about teaching; it’s about fostering an inclusive, culturally affirming environment where Māori and Pacific students/ākonga thrive. Through innovative teaching methods, hands-on learning experiences like marae-based education, and a deep commitment to Māori health and well-being, you’ll be helping shape healthcare professionals who will make a meaningful difference in Māori and Pacific communities.
If you’re driven by the opportunity to lead change, empower future nurses, and advance health equity, we invite you to be a part of this impactful and rewarding journey.
