IDEALLY, YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • An A Class electrical license in South Australia. Additional interstate licences will be viewed favourably but are not essential.
  • EEHA install, maintain and inspect competencies.
  • Other post trade qualifications will be viewed favourably.
  • Solid operational and/or technical oil & gas or similar complex industrial experience.
  • A proven ability to work flexibly between site and office.
  • A proven ability to write factual, concise and literate reports and scopes of work.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of an experienced Technical Officer (EEHA) at GPA Engineering is to perform a broad range of compliance and inspection activities within the Hazardous Areas and Explosive Hazardous Areas space. We are seeking an individual with great technical and communication abilities who has experience working in any of utilities, Defence, heavy industry, or oil and gas sectors.
You will have a good technical understanding of the AS/NZS 60079 suite of standards. Any knowledge of Defence explosive standards eDEOP 101 and MIEE will be highly regarded, but we are also happy to provide on the job training to the right candidate. You will have the ability to prepare reports of site findings and perform HA inspections when needed. Computer literacy is vital in this role, and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Microsoft Project etc will be required.
GPA delivers engineering solutions across a range of industries and disciplines, and you will be working in a collaborative and supportive project delivery team environment. This role will work with our compliance team members to ensure we meet our clients’ expectations.
The role would suit a self-driven electrician who is looking to expand their capabilities and enter a hybrid engineering/trade role. GPA offers excellent career advancement and training opportunities. With a stable Monday to Friday roster the position offers flexibility to retain a good work/life balance. There will be some interstate travel required, but certainly, most time will be spent in Adelaide with weekend work being rare. This position would suit someone looking to return from FIFO employment to spend more time at home with the family. You will be working predominantly at Defence installations and utilities, however the role is quite varied and you may find yourself in wineries, recycling plants, ports or other interesting and varied locations.
The vacancy is a permanent full-time role based in our ADL Office, located in Unley. You won’t just be in the office however as there is plenty of site work required to undertake HA inspections and audits. KEY DUTIES:

Working as part of the compliance team some of your key tasks include:

  • Successfully deliver on small to large, complex, multidisciplinary, high-risk projects.
  • Collaboratively resolve anomalies, design issues, technical challenges in relation to hazardous areas.
  • Perform HA inspections and prepare HA audits.
  • Prepare remediation scopes of work.
  • Provide subject matter expert advice to clients in relation to HA and EHA topics.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and tenders.
  • Visit clients/sites as required.
  • Contribute to the technical success of project outcomes.
  • Bring a great attitude to join our friendly team.
