Reporting to the Hazardous Materials Compliance Manager, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required. Candidate Requirements: * 24 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required (40 Hour preferred) * Based on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment when required * Work effectively and communicate with team members and other departments * Inform management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner * Update job notes daily * Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs. * Able to thrive in a high pressure and fast paced team supported environment * Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L’s high level of safety * Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities * Set up and participate in live training events to ensure competency of personnel * Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance * Ability and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observed * Willing to participate in specialized scheduled projects as required * Competent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to; Excel, Word, and Outlook * Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service and problem-solving skills * Proven ability to work in a confidential capacity * Ability to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented. Responsibilities
