Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Delivery Driver to join our Lindsay Rural team in Tully for local delivery work.
As this is a casual position, hours will vary from day to day and are not guaranteed every day, as they depend on workload.
We’re also looking for someone who is a strong team player, as the Tully Rural site is a shared site with Lindsay Transport.
This is a physically demanding position as you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading & transportation of customer goods and merchandise to and from customer properties.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Deliver and unload merchandise to rural worksites.
  • Ensuring the safe and timely handling of company merchandise.
  • Completing relevant pre-start checklists, safety documentation and delivery paperwork including the use of in-vehicle technology.
  • Interacting with customers in a professional manner.
  • Working closely with depot teams for the loading, unloading and transportation of freight.
  • In-store counter sales as required.

About you: The candidates we are looking for will have:

  • A current HC Licence as a minimum
  • A current forklift licence or willing to get one
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver ideally in a retail environment
  • Always have a safety focus to ensure your safety, your colleagues and customers & general public, along with an ongoing commitment to safe driving practices.
  • Ability to lift, load and deliver rural merchandise
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently
  • Be well presented, professional and reliable.

Experience in a rural worksite or engaging with rural clients is highly regarded.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE APPLICANTS MUST:

  • Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test
  • Provide a current traffic print out
  • Have the capability to meet the physical demands of the position - this includes getting in and out of the truck throughout the day; repetitive bending & lifting of rural merchandise when loading & unloading at the branch and on farm.
