JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will work closely with our nursing and administrative teams to provide high-quality clinical and administrative support within the practice.
This role involves delivering care within your scope of practice to our registered patient population, supporting health promotion, preventative care, and assisting clinical staff with patient treatment and education. You will also provide occasional administrative support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of EMIS Web
  • Experience in a Primary Care setting and phlebotomy.
  • Knowledge of infection control and health & safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

Responsibilities
  • New patient health checks and other health screening
  • Support the Practice Nurse with health promotion programmes
  • Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature and pulse rate, recording findings accurately
  • Support the Practice Nurse with the management of chronic disease clinic
  • Act as a chaperone as required
  • Long term condition reviews
  • Phlebotomy
  • flu vaccinations
  • Urinalysis and preparation of specimens
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
  • Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the organisation’s IPC policy
  • Take responsibility for booking and managing your own clinics
