Responsibilities

Discovery Community College is committed to academic excellence and fostering a dynamic learning environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate on-site Health Care Assistant (HCA) Instructor to support and guide students through their laboratory and clinical training in Courtney, BC helping prepare them for successful entry into the healthcare workforce.
This position plays a key role in ensuring students receive a comprehensive, hands-on educational experience that meets both regulatory standards and industry expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical knowledge, a supportive teaching approach, and a commitment to student success.
This Part-Time role offers variable hours up to 24-32 hours per week and has the potential to lead to future advancements within the college.
Rate Range: $33 to $37/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate student learning in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, providing guidance and support throughout.
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments aligned with course objectives.
  • Supervise students during clinical placements, ensuring safe, ethical, and competent care practices.
  • Ensure compliance with program accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, and college policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and evaluations.
