Description
As a member of the Clinics team, provides clinical support to patients in collaboration with the physicians, nurses and other health care workers. Functions according to the job description for Health Care Aide - Technical. Duties also include scope cleaning and proper disinfecting and handling of medical equipment. 1. Personal Support Worker or Health Care Aide Certificate 2. Current CSAO Techniques course certificate or MDRAO MDR Technics course certificate that has been completed within the last 5 years and is current per the certification standards or is current based on MDRAO certification requirements at current time. Must maintain certification and willingness to re-certify as per standards while in the positon. 3. Minimum 2 years recent technical experience in a similar role (the handling, reprocessing and care of scopes and other delicate equipment) within a health care environment 4. Experience maintaining and stocking materials and supplies 5. Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required 6. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork skills 7. Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position 8. Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions 9. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly 10. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively 11. Ability to lift using appropriate lifting techniques and bend, push and pull using good body mechanics 12. Completed Heart and Stroke Foundation course in CPR preferred 13. Previous outpatient clinic experience preferred
