ABOUT US
The exciting merger of ERS Medical and E-Zec Medical has enabled us to rebrand, therefore as a combined business we are now known as EMED Group. We are the largest Patient Transport and Care Partner to the NHS with more than 2,500 colleagues across 50 depots. Our ambition is to continue developing transport services that improve the health and wellbeing for people across our local communities by providing transport that supports patient care, community support, secure mental health and medical courier services.
EMED Group are committed to providing equal opportunities and we endeavour to provide an inclusive and safe working culture for all
Responsibilities:
- To provide a patient focused delivery of care, treatment and safe transport for High Dependency patients in a clinically safe and professional environment, utilising enhanced skills and regulated best practice when required to do so, adhering at all times to the policies and standards inherent within EMED Group.
- EMED Group are contracted to transfer patients that require a higher level of clinical care than can be supplied by the Patient Transport Service (PTS) This involves the monitoring of patients during their transfer. To monitor the patient a 12 lead ECG, SP02 and NIBP will be used. EMED Group are NOT an emergency service so EMED HDU staff are trained to drive using ‘Blue Lights’ only when they have a patient on the ambulance. All HDU patients for transport will be transferred from a hospital to a care facility for a higher level of treatment. These patients will have been diagnosed by the transferring unit so will just need monitoring during their transfer, with the potential for paramedic interventions if their condition warrants it for continuation of care or if their clinical presentation deteriorates whilst on-route.
