Description

CVR is seeking a HCV Abatement Coordinator. The primary role of this position is to coordinate and perform HQS enforcement activities; placing and lifting abatements as well as initiate required program terminations Work involves monitoring the rules and regulations of Section HCV Program, specifically related to the HQS abatement protocols required by HUD. Frequent exercise of independent judgment and a high degree of decision making are required of employees in this position. This position requires good internal and external customer service, time management/organization skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication. Perform related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the federal Housing Choice Voucher Program including HQS requirements.
  • Knowledge of the rules and guidelines issued by federal and state agencies concerning the management of property (i.e., Landlord Tenant Laws, City codes, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally, individually and in groups, with internal/external contacts, tenants and property owners
  • Strong people skills for building relationship with colleagues at all levels
  • Strong independent decision- making ability
  • Ability to take initiative and be resourceful.
  • Must be able to use general applications including Microsoft Office products.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree and/or college credit hours preferred in business, social work, or public administration
  • 3-5 years of previous experience working with the public in a Housing Choice Voucher, low-income tax credit, property management/compliance, similar non-profit programs working with low-income families.
  • Must possess 3-5 years of client service experience.
  • A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that would provide the required knowledge and abilities
  • Experience working in a high-volume call and production environment with high performance guidelines and stringent deadline
  • Knowledge of public sector housing authority programs and systems is a plus
  • Successful completion of CVR training modules and exams
  • Attend and participate in seminars, webinars, and/or workshops as required

Responsibilities
  • Daily generation of reports pertaining to placing and lifting abatements
  • Place and lift abatements in a timely manner using the Yardi System
  • Refer units with a result of vacant, deceased, or moved for proper processing
  • Prepare listings of proposed terminations due to failure to permit inspections for approval
  • Process all approved terminations
  • Represent CHA/CVR at hearings pertaining to abatement terminations for HQS matters
  • Research landlord and tenant complaints regarding abatement issues and process other related Sales Force tickets
  • Troubleshoot problem abatements and pull monthly Change of Ownership Report from Yardi
  • Perform HQS Enforcement Quality Control Desk reviews
  • Compile report of units in abatement 90 days or more for processing
