Core functions of role include: Responsible for the strategic oversight and operational delivery of the AHP Programme and line management of the functional team. Lead and develop existing and new AHP programmes of work, working in a matrix fashion across the appropriate ICB directorates. Collaborate in the development and communication of a vision for the AHP programme within the ICB, to increase AHP voice, visibility and impact.
Contribute to the delivery, on behalf of the 14 AHP professions, of the ICS strategy(ies) and Joint Forward Plan, ensuring AHP challenges, risks and issues are visible, in the context of national policy, including the NHS Long Term Plan and, NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and annual NHS Operating Guidance. Provide professional expertise, insight and strategic advice to the ICS, ensuring AHP contribution and leadership to the ICS work programmes and priorities, and relevant Humber & North Yorkshire ICB committees, boards and groups. Support the delivery of the ICS Joint Forward Plan, through the provision of AHP insight, expertise and knowledge, across workforce, quality, safety, experience and commissioning. Ensure appropriate governance and reporting of the AHP programme is in place, so that issues, risks and delivery are clearly identified.
Ensure AHP workforce challenges are visible to the Workforce Board and Clinical and Professional Committee. Provide strategic, and professional leadership for all 14 AHP professions, acting as a point of contact and/or advice on professional issues, across the workforce, quality, safety, experience and commissioning agendas. Develop close collaboration and alignment between local, regional and national Arms Length Bodies, NHS and non-NHS providers and commissioners, strategic clinical networks, Local Workforce Action Boards, Professional bodies, Regulators, Higher Educational Institutes, Academic Health Science Networks, Clinical Reference Groups, Primary and Community Care Training hubs, Primary Care Schools Develop and role model a culture that promotes equality, diversity and belonging.
