The Forge is a new, fusion-style bagel bistro that is elevating the bagel scene in Winnipeg by offering unique, hand-formed artisan bagels directly inspired by the traditions of Poland and England. Unlike most bagels made in Winnipeg, our Polishire bagels are labour-intensive and require extensive stretching and hand-shaping to create the delicious, “creamy chew” that bagel aficionados love. When combined with wholesome ingredients and bold flavour profiles, our products attract those who crave a total taste experience – not just a breakfast staple.
To complement our Polishire bagels, we offer signature, handmade lifts (cream cheeses, jams, and spreads). In addition, we’ve curated a premium, custom-blended espresso and coffee that’s crafted for those who truly appreciate exceptional flavour. At The Forge Bagel Co., our customers will experience a new standard of bistro that is driven by quality and delivered with heart.

DETAILS
We are seeking an experienced full-time Head Baker / Bakery Chef to lead and manage our new and growing venture. This role will be based out of our new location at 692 St. Anne’s Rd. and will work closely with our President and Director of Operations.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing the comprehensive baking operation of our new fusion-style bagel bistro ensuring the highest quality of bagels. This will include help overseeing the “concept to creation” of our Polishire Bagels, contributing to recipe and design, menu development, team management, inventory management and ordering supplies, quality control, and driving production to ensure a one of kind unique hand-formed artisan bagels.
Business operating hours will be 7:30am-2:00pm, Tuesday-Saturday; this role will work the appropriate full-time hours to accommodate the necessary production needed for business operations. Working hours typically require early morning start times to ensure fresh baked goods at opening. The commencement date will be in early October in anticipation of our grand opening in November 2025.
