JOB SUMMARY

Hound House is Toronto’s members’ club for dog owner—a space where premium care, refined design, and community come together. We are seeking a Head Dog Bather & Groomer to join our team and lead the bathing and grooming services in our dog spa. This role is ideal for someone who loves dogs, has an eye for detail, and thrives in a professional yet warm environment.
As the Head Bather, you will oversee all aspects of dog bathing services at Hound House, ensuring that every dog leaves looking and feeling their best. You’ll provide exceptional care, manage spa cleanliness and safety, and support the grooming team in delivering a premium-level experience for our members and their dogs as well as train other key members of the staff on how to preform certain services.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience as a dog bather or groomer or groomer’s assistant is required.
  • Strong skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and overall animal care are essential.
  • Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus, enhancing the ability to manage different temperaments during grooming.
  • Must be comfortable lifting heavy animals when necessary and managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment.
  • Knowledge of dog coat types, bathing techniques, and safe product use.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required to build rapport with clients and their pets.
  • A passion for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
  • Perform grooming services including bathing, drying, teeth brushing, nail trimming, ear clenaing, and other smaller grooming services for dogs.
  • Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and comfort during grooming sessions.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the bathing area.
  • Manage bathing schedules and support efficient spa operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and grooming options.
  • Train and guide junior bathers, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Keep accurate records of each pet’s grooming history and any special instructions from owners.
  • Maintain supplies and communicate inventory needs.
  • Assist in animal handling, restraint, and care as needed during appointments or while in the facility.
  • Collaborate with the grooming and daycare teams to ensure smooth service flow.
