Job DetailsJob Location: Ronkonkoma, NY 11779Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 HourlyOur Head Cashier position provides support as a member of the Front End and Webcart team to include assisting customers during the check-out process, performing all cash register functions, bagging groceries, etc. Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers at all times. Assist with supervision of Front End employees as well with the as day-to-day flow of the department/store. Job Responsibilities Checks out customers efficiently and accurately. Cleans and stocks Front End areas. Follows all cash handling procedures. May assist with training of new Cashiers. Controls customer flow and backed up lines – helping reduce customer waiting time. Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner. Supervises and delegates tasks to employees. Works with Front End Manager to train employees in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover. Assists in training of new employees, utilizing learning checklists and training materials. Keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated. Resolves difficult customer situations. Ensures all necessary breaks are given. Communicates team concerns to the Front End Manager. Communicates attendance issues or concerns to Front End and Store Managers. Consistently communicates and models Cornucopia vision and goals. Job Skills: Extensive knowledge of Front End team procedures and policies. Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner. Demonstrates advanced product knowledge, maintains awareness of new products. Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills. Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate. Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications. Experience: 12+ months retail experience. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions: In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching. Qualifications
